Dr. Efe Yahaya-Shuaibu is a distinguished scholar, cultural diplomat, and visionary leader whose life’s work bridges Africa and China through education, cultural exchange, and business cooperation.

Recognized with a certification as one of the pioneers of Chinese language in Nigeria by the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Lagos. Dr. Efe began his Chinese language journey in 2010 at the Confucius Institute at Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
With unwavering passion and consistency in pursuing his “Chinese dream,” he excelled and was awarded the Confucius Institute Scholarship by the Chinese Government in 2013, which enabled him to further his studies in China at Hebei Normal University.

Over the years, he attained both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (TCSOL), (2013–2019) and was later conferred with an Honorary Doctorate from the Awedu Institute of Business Management and Leadership in recognition of his leadership and contributions to education and cultural diplomacy (February 2025).

During his years in China, Dr. Efe Yahaya-Shuaibu demonstrated strong leadership skills, serving as the President of the International Students Association at Hebei Normal University (2016–2018). After spending six years studying and three years working in China, he returned to Nigeria in 2022 with a clear vision to advance Sino-African cooperation.

He established the Africa Indigenous Chinese School, AiFei Chinese School (AiFei)—formerly known as Efe Best Chinese Training School (EBCTS)—where he currently serves as President & Director . AiFei has grown to become one of Africa’s fastest-rising institutions for Chinese language and culture, shaping a new generation of Chinese teachers, translators, interpreters, and cultural ambassadors.

While working in China, Dr. Efe Yahaya-Shuaibu accumulated vast experience in Tourism Development and Planning, Business Development, Translation/Interpretation, and Chinese Language Education. This diverse expertise has positioned him as a respected voice on youth empowerment, cross-cultural collaboration, and international cooperation.

Beyond his academic and professional pursuits, Dr. Efe Yahaya-Shuaibu has received multiple awards and recognitions in China and Nigeria, including the “China-Nigeria Friendship Youth Contribution Award” by the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Lagos (September 2024) where he made history as the first and only Nigerian youth to be honored for advancing friendship and cooperation between the two nations among the awardees.

A prolific writer, researcher, and public speaker, he continues to inspire the younger generation to embrace knowledge, discipline, and cultural awareness as tools for leadership and global impact. His vision extends beyond the classroom—he is committed to building sustainable platforms where African and Chinese youths can collaborate to drive innovation, entrepreneurship, and socio-economic development.
